BYD DM-i technology is a PHEV system that uses a high-power motor drive and large-capacity Blade Battery as its primary source of power, only using the engine for assistance. This means the BYD SEALION 6 can drive fully electric and when the SOC is low, the car transforms into an ultra-low fuel consumption hybrid vehicle. The BYD SEALION 6 offers a quiet, comfortable ride and greater energy efficiency, all while supplying high power and responsiveness.

Drive Modes
EV and DM-i drive modes to balance performance and economy.
EV mode For quiet, comfortable journeys around town. Increased responsiveness, regenerative braking. The wheels are 100% driven by the BYD Blade battery, with the engine on standby. HEV Series mode When the battery SOC falls below the user-set level, the engine will automatically engage to increase range. In this drive mode, the engine acts as a generator for the BYD Blade battery. HEV Parallel mode Full power mode. The wheels are driven by both the BYD Blade battery and the engine. This mode increses acceleration and responsiveness, helping to overtake effortlessly on the highway. When cruising at high speed with low SOC, the wheels become driven 100% by the engine, reducing fuel consumption and increasing efficiency.

BYD SEALION 6 Premium offers a 1.5 litre high-efficiency, turbo-charged hybrid engine working in conjunction with the BYD Blade Battery. This brings extended range and efficiency to the platform whilst maintaining a quiet and luxurious drive.
